Zac Brandenberg, CEO As Founder and CEO of Hydra, Zac Brandenberg drives the overall vision and operations for the company, focusing on strategic growth, business development and relationship management.
Brandenberg is a seasoned Internet entrepreneur with hands-on experience developing and leading online-based ventures. Prior to founding Hydra, he founded patriotic products online retailer GreatUSAflags where he launched the official “Iraqi Most Wanted” playing cards. Grossing $10 million in just six weeks, it remains one of the largest e-commerce launches in history, and earned Brandenberg widespread media coverage and a reputation as an online marketing pioneer. Concurrently, Brandenberg was COO of a boutique Internet media agency distributing performance-based advertising campaigns for online brands.
Previously, Brandenberg led The Dohring Company, the nation's largest provider of custom automotive research and an "Advertising Age Top 100 Research Company," in positioning itself in the online research and marketing arena. As Vice President, he oversaw the development and launch of OpinionSurveys, an online consumer panel with more than 10 million participants which was used to service major brands in the restaurant, retail and entertainment industries prior to its sale to Greenfield Online. Brandenberg also served as a consultant to the interactive kids' entertainment website Neopets, Inc. which sold to Viacom in 2006.
Brandenberg received a dual B.A. in Economics-Accounting and Government from Claremont McKenna College and lives in Los Angeles with his wife and son. He is an active investor in early-stage businesses and serves on the Board of several private companies.
